As many of you know, Corey sits on the Board of Directors for the CPFF Foundation.  Corey's father, Gary, died due to job related cancer shortly after retiring from a 32 year career with LA City Fire.

      ASU study underscores economic impact of Phoenix Fire Department

      TEMPE, AZ - An independent ASU study shows that the Phoenix Fire Department may be responsible for saving thousands of jobs and millions to the Arizona economy.   The study looked at eight commercial fires last year where the fire department's response ended up saving the business.   Hatfield's Laundry near 16th Street and Washington was one of them.

      Decline of Unions

      What happened to American labor unions?  Last week came news that the share of America’s workforce that’s unionized hit a 97-year low. A mere 11.3% of workers now belong to a union, and a great chunk of those are in the shrinking public sector. In the private sector, unionization fell to an abysmal 6.6%, down from a peak of 35% during the 1950s.
